Seasons change very often in the months, but one thing that also changes is your mood, there are people that often get depressed when the seasons change it is called Seasonal Affective Disorder also known as S.A.D.

Whenever winter comes the days grow shorter, the light outside becomes very rare, the wind starts getting colder, and most of us might respond by covering ourselves up in blankets, binge-watching Netflix.

However, something that most people do, may be a sign of something more serious in others. That said person has S.A.D., here are some signs that you may have Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Heaviness in arms and legs.
Frequent oversleeping
Craving for carbohydrates/weight gain
Relationship problems
Tiredness and low energy

Those are some of the signs in winter S.A.D. there are signs in the other seasons but this particular one is about winter as it is coming (minor "Game of Thrones" reference there!) just remember that you are not alone in this, and no way is any of this your fault, there are ways to treat S.A.D. the only question is how do you want to treat it.

While medication does help, we don't always want to rely on it for everything

One of the options is light therapy, there are lamps and boxes that you can get off of Amazon, you sit in front of the box for 30 minutes a day it's often most effective when you get up in the morning.

Aromatherapy can also help with S.A.D., you can get a defuser off of Amazon along with some oils, you can add some to your bath, you can put it in the defuser whatever helps you sleep!

if you can't exercise outside because of the cold, go inside, there is yoga, if you have a treadmill use that, you can also use the Wii or any kind of game system and play a game that gets you moving.

S.A.D. may be terrible but it is treatable, know that it is not your fault, that you will get through this, the winter will go by fast all you got to do is get help and rise above the illness!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
