It is very easy to get caught up in everything going on around you and this can often lead to feeling lost, anxious, confused and overwhelmed. This time can also be very difficult because it is easy to lose yourself if there's so much going on around you and you're trying to take care of multiple things at once.

You can feel like you have no control over what is going on around you and that everything is happening at once. This, my friend, can feel like the worse time, but it is also the best time because it is when you will learn to grow the most. I understand what you're going through, and trust me when I say it will get better.

In these times, it is best to reflect and focus on what you love most.

I found it most helpful to listen to music and think with no distractions. It may be the hardest thing to do in the moment, but giving yourself time to breathe, take time off, and focus on yourself really helps to slow the process down. Listen to music that brings you back, music that makes you happy, or music that makes you sad. Anything that helps you to feel at all, will really make you more aware of what is going on around you.

If you are an outgoing person who likes to do everything at once (like me), I heavily recommend picking one thing that you love and sticking to it. It is easy to get caught up doing many things for other people and not spending the time to focus on yourself. Picking one thing to focus on can help to slow down what is going on around you and it can help you to calm down as well.

Stay off of social media (or at least spend less time on it). Seeing what everyone else is doing can be detrimental when it comes to your own mental health. It makes the world seem busier and often times makes you less aware of what is going on in your own life.

It is easy to say that you're spending less time scrolling through social media but if you actually want to do something, set timers for yourself, track your usage, or actually delete the app altogether. It can be one of the best strategies to make yourself feel better.

Try to write down what you are feeling and what makes you feel this way. Being able to comprehend what you are feeling and take control over it is one more step towards feeling better. It helps to even turn these feelings into poems, drawings, song lyrics, etc.

It is easy to get lost in the commotion of everyday life or especially if you have large things going on at once in your life. These feelings of being overwhelmed can be overcome and it will eventually go away, it just takes time, mindfulness, and patience.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
