While every family's Thanksgiving dinner looks a little bit different, there are some staple foods that are included in holiday feasts around the country. Many of us look forward to eating these foods for months before Thanksgiving, but there are some Thanksgiving staples that aren't all they're cracked up to be. Here is a definitive ranking of Thanksgiving foods from worst to best.

9. Cranberry Sauce

I don't care if you make it yourself or if it comes from a can, cranberry sauce is a no. The consistency itself is hard to get past, and it doesn't taste great anyway.

8. Stuffing

What even is stuffing? Sometimes it's good, but more often than not it's dry and devoid of flavor. This is a hard pass from me on Thanksgiving.

7. Dinner Rolls

Rolls are an essential part of a Thanksgiving dinner. What else would you use to mop up all the extra gravy on your plate. These aren't something that are usually spectacularly delicious, though. You usually know what you're going to get when you see a dinner roll, which is why it's not ranked higher.

6. Sweet Potato Casserole

This dish provides something sweet in a meal full of savory dishes. While it's not the best Thanksgiving dish, it's one that you can't miss out on. What's not to love when you put marshmallows on top of it?

5. Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin pie is definitely something that almost everyone eats on Thanksgiving, and it's really only available during the fall. Pumpkin pie isn't bad, but it's just not as good as some other Thanksgiving dishes.

4. Turkey

The traditional main dish served on Thanksgiving, turkey is something that most people don't eat on a regular basis. So basically, when it comes to Thanksgiving, the turkey is a big deal. It's actually harder to cook a turkey than you might think, which is why turkey isn't toward the top of the list. Turkey can get dry, but you can usually slap some gravy on it and everything works out just fine.

3. Green Bean Casserole

Who doesn't love crispy onion straws on top of absolutely anything? I'm a huge fan of this dish, so I may be a little biased when I say how amazing it is.

2. Macaroni and Cheese

I have never had any macaroni and cheese that I didn't think tasted good. Mac and cheese is hard to mess up, making it a fool-proof Thanksgiving dish that appears on everyone's dinner table.

1. Mashed Potatoes

I absolutely had to put mashed potatoes on the top of this list. Let me just say that if you eat smooth mashed potatoes instead of lumpy ones, you're really not getting the full Thanksgiving experience. Full of butter and just carbs, this dish can't be beat when it comes to Thanksgiving.

Each of these dishes has a special place in my heart, even if I don't like them. All of them put together means that it's Thanksgiving, a time for the whole family to get together and be happy. What foods does your family enjoy the most at Thanksgiving?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
