What’s the best part about Halloween? The costumes? The decorations? The parties? The correct answer is none of the above. Let’s get real, the best part of Halloween is the candy. Whether you’re 8 or 48, candy is always the way to go.

Now, think about being 8 years old: you’re trick or treating and you’re at a house that has left a bowl of candy on the porch. What does your hand gravitate towards? The smooth caramel? The chunky peanuts? The playful bright colors?

Now, imagine you’re 48 and buying candy not only for the kids that come trick or treating but for yourself. Do you gravitate toward the same candy your 8-year-old hand did? What you look for in a candy says a lot about who you are as a person. Whether you’re hard working, confident or shy, trust the candy. The candy says it all.

1. M&M’s/Reese's/Three Musketeers:

Though you have a tough outer shell, you easily crack. To the core, you are pure and dependable. You like mixing things up and adding variety, but you also know how to stay true to yourself. Stick to what you know because it is the best way to roll. There is no need to drastically change anything in your life because "doing you" worked thus far. You are comfortable with how your life is going at this point, and you can provide a similar comfort to others in times of panic. Take solace in the fact you know what you’re doing.

2. Kit Kat/Hershey's/Tootsie Roll:

Predictable in the best way possible. Everyone knows exactly what to expect from you when you walk into the room. This is not to say that you are boring -- often times you are the life of the party, a solid foundation for people to branch off from. Don’t let your predictability keep you from shining like a star because odds are, you already do. People can always count on you to never change, which is exactly what they may need when times get crazy. Your steadfastness is admirable in a world where people are constantly trying to change. Stay true to yourself and good things will come your way.

3. Skittles/Starburst/Nerds:

There are many sides to you. While not everyone enjoys all these sides, people are never disappointed to see you. You are bold and add a little flavor to any group. At times you can be picky and while that may inhibit what you want, you always accomplish your goal at the end of the day. You may often be overlooked or taken for granted if there are other people around who tend to steal the spotlight. However, there is nothing wrong with making your presence known in an attempt to stand out even more. You are constantly changing, whether it’s to please you or the people around you. Let your personality shine through a little more and there’s nothing you can’t do.

4. Snickers/ Butterfinger/ Milky Way:

You have layers which make you appeal to everyone. You are not easily hated and in return you share the love. While you are sometimes complex, you have a standard default that rests on the border of simplicity. It does not take much to make you happy but people may think differently because of your so-called complexity. The greatest thing about the layers within you is that they make you versatile; you are able to fit into any situation with ease and grace. Use those layers to reach out, make more friends, and spread your inner sunshine.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
