Fall is my favorite time of year for fashion, shoes, scents, and cozy home decor. Why? Because the east coast is hazy, hot, and humid and I’m tired of sweating! No more sucking it in while wearing a bikini, no more sunburns, and no more sweat. Bring on all of the oversized sweaters, pumpkin patches, and apple pie. What’s not to love?!

But, with all the thrills of colder weather, we also have to deal with dry air, dull skin, and flat hair. So let’s talk about some fall favorites beauty products that are easy, simple, and are sure to warm you up this fall.

First up is my favorite primer by CoverFX. It’s light and keeps your skin moisturized all day while keeping your foundation in place. I have tried other primers in years past, but nothing that makes my skin glow without looking greasy. How I survived this long without it astonishes me! It makes my makeup practically permanent. It washes off great at night without leaving your pores feeling clogged.

This shampoo and conditioner duo is my savior. It keeps my curls healthy and shiny while protecting my color so my hair doesn’t look dull and faded. After trying many different kinds of conditioner for my hair, I fell in love with this one because there is no residue. Built up residue can leave hair feeling sticky and stringy, but this washes out leaving my hair clean and soft.

Okay, so not a beauty product, but I am obsessed with this candle this year. Not a basic pumpkin spice candle and makes your house smell so cozy. It packs a serious punch of fall. You can thank me later!

Short of sounding gimmicky, this lotion is the. best. ever. I mean seriously. It smells like coconut without being overpowering and is so light. Some moisturizing lotions feel heavy and thick, but because this lotion is water-based, it’s light, fluffy, and keeps your skin nourished all day. A little bit goes a long way, so a large container lasts me up to 6 months!

Everyone has their favorite contour palette, but my favorite obsession is this one by Urban Decay. My skin loses it’s tan and glow during the colder months, so I wanted to find something that would give me some color and brighten my skin. Already paired up with complimenting shades, this bronzer, blush, and highlighter trio is just the solution.

As much as the Maryland humidity sucks the life out of everyone, it is really good for Texas-big hair. During the winter when my hair needs a boost, this texturizing spray is a lifesaver. A few little spritzes on my roots and poof! My hair is full and bouncy again. Seriously, my hair will stay full and voluminous all day, no matter how hectic my day gets.

Those are some of my beauty obsessions that get me through the colder months, and I can't imagine my daily routine without them! What are some of your "must-haves" this season?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
