The first annual Revolve Awards occurred on Thursday, November 2, at The Highlight Room at Dream Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. Revolve is a designer-based powerhouse who features over 500 Women's and Men's brands, such as Alice + Olivia, Free People, Marc Jacobs and BB Dakota. They carry apparel, shoes, beauty and accessories for women, men and kids. This e-commerce shop was founded in Los Angeles in 2003 by 2 friends and currently brings in 40 million page visits each month and over 1.4 million email subscribers (Revolve).

According to Fashionista, the #RevolveAwards "aim to create 'an annual celebration of the creativity, collaboration and innovative talent that defines the Revolve community... celebrating the year's most revolutionary talent in the influencer, fashion, music spheres.'" The public chose their most influential style stars or trendsetters and was celebrated via social media. Although this was the first annual award show, it was one to remember and is forecasted to become a special event in the future years.

Best Beauty Brand: Ouai

Innovator of the Year: Eva Chen
Artist of the Year: Rae Sremmurd
Icon of the Year: Nicole Richie
Woman of the Year: Chrissy Teigen
Muse of the Year: Shay Mitchell

Along with recognizing the winners, the rest of the entire night revolved around the glamorous red carpet looks from some of Hollywood's favorite celebs. The night was full of bold, daring looks bringing a lot of black and darker colors along with a common "slit" trend to the carpet.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
