Festival season is upon us. Coachella, Bonnaroo, Hangout Fest, EDC, Lollapalooza–there's a good chance you’ve heard of one of these or another festival that's happening somewhere near you. Now if you’re a music fanatic like me, you probably have your tickets and can't wait to be en route to a festival filled with your favorite artists. Other than the great music, festival fashion is a big thing. The bohemian, hipster vibes from festivals are reasons some attract the attention that they do. Fashion icons such as Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Vanessa Hudgens and others are known for their impeccable festival wear. When I look at pictures from Coachella, I can't imagine looking that cute and also being comfortable, so here's my guide to being cute and comfy at your local music scene.

Shoes at concerts and festivals are so important. You’re on your feet for hours at a time, whether it's walking from stage to stage, dancing around, or standing to watch your favorite artist. This is the one outfit element in which I would definitely pick comfort over cuteness. Every time I go to a concert I wear my favorite Converse. Converse are great because they’re close-toed and guarantee that no one will be stomping on your toes while you’re trying to dance. Now, if you aren’t opting for a closed-toe shoe, I would recommend sandals with good support. I would probably wear Birkenstocks or Chacos. Both of these sandals have good arch support, which lessens the pain you’ll have from doing so much walking and standing. Depending on the weather (it might be rainy), wearing a pair of cowgirl boots or Hunter rain boots would be adorable as well. Ditching the shoes that give you blisters is the best way to go as far as festival footwear.

Now, onto the outfit. High-waisted shorts and crop tops are usually what you see people wearing at concerts, but personally I’m not a fan of that for festivals. I know that when I wear high-waisted shorts they constantly squeeze me in places I don’t want to be squeezed or they show things I don’t want to show. For a festival I would definitely opt for a dress. Dresses are flowy so you don’t get too hot and you can freely move about for dancing, running and whatever you decide to do. Now, if you’re like me and sometimes you move a little too freely, I would say to wear a pair of spandex under the dress so the crowd doesn’t see a second show. However, if you do want to wear shorts and a crop top, I would recommend things that you know you’re comfortable in. Festivals aren’t the place to wear brand new shorts that you’re not sure how they fit!

Accessories are the finishing touches that make an outfit. From sunglasses, to jewelry, to hats and flash tats–these can totally make or break what you’re wearing. Sunglasses or a hat for a festival are a must. Keeping the sun out of your eyes is so crucial when you’re trying to watch an artist perform. Hats are even better because then they keep the sun off your whole face so you don’t get sunburned, because no one loves peeling skin. Jewelry is also a must. I would recommend jewelry that isn't too heavy that will pull at your ears or neck. That will just annoy you the whole time you’re trying to dance. I also wouldn't recommend wearing expensive jewelry. With all the people and movement going on at a festival, jewelry is very likely to get broken or lost, and you wouldn't want something valuable to disappear. Another fun way to accessorize for festivals is with flash tattoos! Flash tattoos are temporary tattoos that are usually metallic gold or silver in cute designs. I would put these on my arms or hands for a cute non-permanent tattoo look.

No matter what you wear to a festival or concert, they are still a blast, and I would recommend going to at least one at some point in your life!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
