Having Confidence In Your Unique Style

Fashion Is Power

Never underestimate the power of a cute outfit. Its undeniable that when you look good, you feel good. When you leave the house and you know the outfit you're wearing looks amazing, you feel like a queen. Clothes can boost your confidence to go out and make the world yours, and look good while you do it.

For me, my most confident moments are in a pair of heels and a skirt. I feel my best when I am totally dressed up. Dresses give me the confidence to sashay down the hallway with pride. Although, just because that's what I feel good in doesn't mean it's the same for every girl. Not everyone feels comfortable being dressed up. Being comfortable in your style goes hand in hand with confidence. Different types of people will have different types of styles. For our athletic ladies, you go get the gold medal in those leggings that show off your amazing calf muscles. If you feel ready to take on the world in a band t-shirt, jeans, and converse, lace those shoes up tight and hit the ground running. If your theme music is the clicking of heels on tile, work the hall like a runway. Show yourself off whether your style is 90's grunge or 50's pin up. Fashion is a way to express yourself. Whatever your style is, use it to your advantage. Have confidence in yourself and how unique your style is. Wear what makes you feel radiant, and never put others down for what clothes make them feel like a star. Respect all types of style. Live by the words "dress and let dress." I'll work my outfit, you work yours.

Just as clothes can make you feel fierce, they can also make you feel drab. Don't wear clothes that don't represent who you are. You have a beautiful personality, so have fun with your outfits. When you wear sloppy, slouchy clothes, you feel sloppy too. If it doesn't make you feel good don't wear it. Pull yourself together girl! Stand tall in your outfit. Clothes with confidence doesn't always equal expensive either. Spending a lot of money isn't required to feel fabulous. Saving money on your clothes normally makes you feel even better in them. You can always pull some DIY magic on some old clothes, exchange clothes with friends, and shop at discount stores like Ross, Marshall's, or even a thrift store. Use your outfits to make you feel powerful, not powerless. Never forget you have the right to feel good in your own skin and your own style.

Dress for you. No matter what anyone says, strut with confidence. Fashion is an outward expression of who you are. Let your outfits show off the gorgeous woman ready to take on life. Don't settle for the clothes that make you feel lazy. Go for the ones that make you feel ready for action. Your clothes are there to show case the bold and brilliant girl you already are. You have the power in you, now go show it off. One of the best parts about being a woman is that we change the world, and look stunning while we do it. Love yourself while loving your style.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
