San Francisco is one of the top tourist attractions in the world. Millions of people travel to San Fran to see all the tourist attractions. The thing is, at Christmas time, Union Square and close by neighborhoods turn into beautiful Christmas attractions. Lights are everywhere, creating a glow throughout the city. I grew up going to San Francisco as a kid. To this day I still go to their to enjoy all the attractions.

Here are a few of the top places that one should adventure that I personally love visiting. Don't forget to take pictures of all the beautiful sights and lights!

1. Ice Skate in downtown San Francisco

Skating in downtown San Francisco is a must. It is beautiful and as you skate as you can admire all the beautiful lights and the massive tree that makes the square so famous. Going during the day is awesome but going at night is spectacular.

2. Hyatt Regency Lobby, Embarcadero

The pictures below show just how stunning the Hyatt Regency truly is. The lights must have taken weeks to put up and perfect. The way they are arranged show creativity. The fact that they are long ways makes the building seem a million times taller. The lights alone give the hotel a glow, let along the trees wrapped in strands of lights.

3. Westin St. Francis Lobby, Union Square

The Westin is one of my favorite places to visit. Inside, they have a huge gingerbread castle topped with tons of frosting and candy. It is 1,300 pound chateau with a dozen rooms, 20 turrets and a small village at the base.

4. Macy's Union Square

Every year, I love going to Macy's; the amount of wreathes are insane. During the day, you can find people hustling around, trying to get their gifts. Window shopping is the best part. Why? Because the SFSPCA puts cats and dogs in the window to show people the animals that need to get adopted. The animals are a huge attraction which means more puppies and kittens have the chance to be adopted into loving homes.

5. Pier 39

Pier 39 is probably my favorite spot to visit. It has tons of restaurants and attractions. You can ride the Carousel, visit all the little tourist shops, buy a shirt and eat some mini doughnuts. The tree lights up the beginning of the board walk and sets the mood for the rest of the way down. Last but never least, the sea lions are awesome. At the end of the pier and a little to the left, you can see the funny animals being their typical lazy selves. They lay on floating docks, make loud noises and bug each other by crawling on top of one another. If you visit, I advise going to Boudin Bakery. The bread bowls are fantastic and their pizzas are delicious.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
