Families can be hard to deal with at times. Especially over the holidays. We love our families, we really do, but seeing cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, second cousins, your cousin's girlfriend, etc., all at once can be overwhelming. Here are 10 things we always do around our families during the holidays.
When your family asks if you would like to prepare a dish to take to the family dinner.
No, no I really can't.
When your family says we should go around the room and say what we're thankful for.
When your family grills you about having a boyfriend/girlfriend.
When someone says the word "president" at the dinner table.
It's a trigger.
When your aunt prepares her usual nasty bean casserole.
When you're a few hours deep into family time and you go into your designated room in the house for a little bit.
When your sibling mentions something they know they shouldn't have in front of the family.
When the family finally leaves after 4 hours that seemed like a stressful, surreal blur.
No matter how stressful a family outing can be, we wouldn't replace them for the world and we are so thankful to have everyone by our side.
