7 Fall Fashion Trends That Are TOTALLY Hot, And Sometimes Not

Fall is upon us, so grab a PSL and read on!

I don't know about you, but I absolutely live for fall fashion. Layering sweaters, jackets, coats, scarves, and the works to stay cozy and cute is something I look forward to every autumn season, and this year, despite things like quarantine and isolation, is no exception!

But sometimes fall trends just aren't it. So read on to see which fall trends are it, or if you should just skip 'em!

Teddy Coats: HOT

@alarostores

I LOVE a good teddy coat! I have a good teddy coat! It is a staple in my fall wardrobe and is so perfect for when it's just a little too cold for a denim jacket, but it's not quite time to break out your parka or puffer coat yet.

They are comfy, cute, and super easy to style, especially since they usually come in neutral tones, like the classic camel beige, black, or grey! This trend is definitely hot, and Sophia Rae approved!

Orange And Black: NOT

@nabela

Now I personally can never pull off wearing orange and black together without feeling like I look like a character from some kids Halloween movie, but I've seen other people make it work! Orange with just a little bit of blue or white accents, like in the picture above, works great.

It all depends on how you work it and if you've got the confidence to pull it off! For me though, this trend is just not it.

Baguette Bags: HOT

@asos

Ok whoever decided that it was time to bring this trend back from the '90s, I'd like to send them a giant thank you basket and a hug because I am absolutely living for baguette bags.

They're super vintage, super cute, not too big or too small, you can get them in any color on the face of the planet, and they tie any outfit together perfectly!

Plus, you can dress them up or dress them down! What can't these bags do? Definitely a hot fall trend.

Thigh-high Boots: HOT

@asos

There are so many reasons why thigh-high boots are fabulous. For one, the aesthetic of a short skirt or an oversized hoodie a la Ariana Grande is sooooo cute, and wearing them over jeans in the fall? Amazing.

But honestly, my favorite thing about thigh-high boots is something that I feel like no one ever mentions: they keep you so warm!

They keep you nice and toasty from that chilly fall breeze, and wearing thigh high socks underneath them is a game-changer! 100% a hot trend this fall.

Monochrome Brown: HOT

@noooosheeeen

A lot of people don't like this trend, but I actually think it's really cute. Simple, easy, and very on-trend this season. If you find it hard to match shades of brown or beige, then make it even easier and get a matching outfit set, and there you have it!

This is one trend the Kardashians have mastered this fall that I'm actually in love with, and I don't say that often! This fall, catch me with 50 shades of brown in my closet because I can never choose whether I like the color "beige" or "maple" better!

Cropped Cardigans: HOT

@sorayabakhtiar

Yes. A hundred times, yes. I am obsessed with cropped cardigans, particularly the ones that button down the front? Insider tip: unbutton the top button and the bottom two or three, leaving only one or two in the middle.

So cute! Now you're ready to go apple picking and look adorable in your pics! Because who doesn't go apple picking to not take pictures???

Faux Leather: HOT (Real Leather: NOT)

@janeandtash

I love the look of leather, especially in coats and jackets, but I don't like real leather or supporting the industry, so I'm gonna stick with faux and vegan leather, in the same styles!

Vegan leather trench coats? Absolutely. Faux leather shorts, boots, bags, everything? Sign me up! But real leather is just not hot.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
