It's that time of year that we all know and love: fall.
Fall brings us everything that we ask for in a school year: No more sweating while walking to class, football season, fall wardrobe and winter.
Sweating is a major obstacle on a summer day for plus-size people. It brings out the gross in all of us but for people that have a little more crease and a lot more lbs, it's a major struggle. Walking to class involves chaffing and butt sweat and no one wants to see that. Fall changes everything. Chaffing is at a minimum because of pants, leggings and jeans are back into play without causing heatstroke.
Cooler weather brings happiness to those who love the outdoors but can't take the heat of the Oklahoma sun. You can finally sit outside for lunch and not worry about having a spontaneous wet t-shirt contest. Breathing is easy because humidity is all but non-existent. Fall weather is heaven-sent. Sitting in the bleachers at games becomes bearable and you can cheer without showing everyone your pit stains that were caused by excessive sweating.
Everyone loves football season because that's when the spirit of your university or school really come out. Loving life with 25,000+ of your closest Cowboy family on a Saturday is a great way to spend the day, especially if your team wins. It's fun to dress in layers and not have to regret it five minutes into the game or when you're waiting outside of the stadium to cheer on your team.
Getting together with your best friends and some food to watch an away game is a great way to spend the day too. You sit on a couch and turn the TV on and make fun of the announcers (unless they're doing their job) until your team makes a play that baffles you and you jump up and scream.
Fall clothes are life. They breathe in a new sense of style and happiness. Leggings, a girl's best friend, are always the answer for a brisk fall morning on campus. You don't need to think about what to wear when you throw on a pair of leggings; t-shirt, sweatshirt, fancy blouse, everything works.
Hoodies and jackets also bring out the best in people. It allows you to look terrible underneath and it requires minimum effort for under clothes, just a hoodie is A-OK, unless your class/building is super hot then that would be a terrible idea because you'll be stuck with a hoodie and no shirt for an entire class period.
I, for one, love winter. I spent my childhood in southern Nevada and I had never witnessed snow, in all of its glory, until I was in the third grade. Now I am the #1 fan of snow and icy weather. It brings out the little kid in me. Winter is the earth's way of saying, times up, we're restarting. It's a new day and a new time to be alive.
