10 Things To Be Grateful For This Fall

1. The weather (of course)

Although summer may be great, there is no season like fall. Instead of waking up to hot and humid days, you can finally walk outside without sweating every minute. There's nothing like a cool and crisp fall morning. Savor these days while they last because winter will be coming soon enough.

2. Cozy sweaters/sweatshirts

Now that the weather's changed, you can finally put away your wardrobe of tank tops and switch them in with cozy sweaters and sweatshirts. There's nothing like sitting outside on a cool fall morning bundled up in your favorite hoodie.

3. Apple cider

If you're like me, apple cider is one of your favorite drinks and you love fall when it is finally acceptable to drink it all season long. Apple cider is so underrated, whether it be chilled or warm.

4. Falling leaves

I don't care what anyone says, fall is the prettiest season by far. If you're lucky enough to live in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic area like me then you love seeing the leaves change during this time of year. It truly is a sight to see.

5. Pumpkin spice

Even if you're not a fan of pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin flavored foods are the best. Pumpkin bread and pumpkin muffins are god's gift to this earth.

6. Halloween

Halloween is such an underrated holiday. It gives you the perfect excuse to eat nothing but candy for an entire day. I love decorating my dorm for Halloween and coming up with fun Halloween costumes.

7. Bonfires

Bonfires are the best. It's a great activity to do in the fall if you're looking for a chill night with friends. And, smores anyone?

8. Haunted houses

Even if you're not super into Halloween, haunted houses are such a fun experience for you and your friends. You might be scared to death most of the time but great memories can come out of it.

9. Thanksgiving

Although this holiday may be towards the end of fall, it marks the beginning of the holiday season and allows you to appreciate the best parts of fall. The food and enjoying the company of your family makes this holiday so much better.

10. Friends and Family

Fall is truly the time to reflect on what you're grateful for and what a better time to think of how much your family and friends mean to you. Spend some time with them (if you can) during this lovely season.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
