It's about that time to put the bathing suit away (at least if you're from the north) and take out all your favorite fall clothes from the back of your closet. If you find a need to upgrade your wardrobe this year, I've rounded up the best staple pieces for your fall outfits.
1. Ankle BootiesÂ
I swear these are the ONLY type of shoes I reach for during this time of year. They pair great with jeans, leggings, AND skirts. They can be casual enough for class or you can dress them up for a nice dinner or a night out. I always keep a pair of tan booties and a pair of black ones to go with whatever outfit I'm in that day.
These will become staple shoes that you'll wear for years.
2. Ripped JeansÂ
As we learned from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (yes, I'm dating myself), a good pair of jeans can take you a long way. Autumn is the perfect weather for ripped jeans, not to mention how fashionable they are in today's fashion. They also look amazing with the booties I previously mentioned.
I suggest keeping a light pair and a dark pair in your wardrobe for endless stylish outfits.
3. Sweaters
This one may seem obvious, as it's the sole reason we all look forward to cold weather. Sweaters can be paired with anything in your closet...and they are also a signature staple piece that you can dress up or down. I recommend having an oversized sweater, a fitted, fancier sweater, and casual everyday sweater.
4. Corduroy Skirt
Corduroy Skirts are so ... this holiday season. Pair them with cute ankle booties with calf-high socks and a nice sweater to get a perfect look for any fall weekend and even Thanksgiving!
5. Scarves
Last, but certainly not least, is our favorite fall/winter accessory. You can throw on a scarf with any outfit whatsoever. Leggings and a denim jacket? Add a scarf. Skirt and a sweater? Add a scarf. Sweatshirt and sweatpants? Add a scarf. See what I mean? I love to pair plaid scarves with jackets and plain comfy scarves with sweatshirts and sweaters.
