Fall is a time of year marked by warmness and the taste of home - that for me is some fall "flavored" foods. One of my favorite meals of the day is actually breakfast so as I was looking for some autumnal recipes to try out myself, I thought it'd be a good idea to share some of my favorites with you! So without further ado, here are 7 recipes I urge you to try with me:
1. Apple Cinnamon Pancakes
Seriously, nothing says "fall" to me more than some warm apples and cinnamon. As an afternoon treat, I love some baked cinnamon apples so once I saw this recipe, I knew it was a must for me. Pairing this with some almond milk sounds like a dream. Check out the recipe here on Creme De La Crumb.
2. Pumpkin Muffins
Pumpkin muffins are something I directly tie to my mom; in the mornings before school she would love making freshly baked muffins for us so it brings me back to these memories. The taste of warm pumpkin dough can make my mouth water to this day. If you want to live this memory with me, read the recipe on Betty Crocker!
3. Sweet Potato Apple Hash with eggs
I saw this and was immediately intrigued. I wouldn't necessarily associate sweet potatoes to fall myself, but with the apples I immediately wanted to head to the store to pick up what was needed. Having this with some eggs and toast sounds like a great morning to me. This recipe looks fairly easy but also so good.
4. Baked Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal
I love to bake, especially when it comes to sweets but when I saw this, I knew it would cure a sweet tooth but also be healthy. Of course they would be best if eaten right out of the oven, but I also feel like they would be an incredibly convenient, and tasty, breakfast for on the go! Before I head to campus, I never have much time to cook so keeping these in a container would make my life easier and happier. I have a feeling this is a recipe I will use more than once.
5. Banana Bread Smoothie
Back to not having much time before class, I love drinking smoothies on the go. Although this doesn't seem like the most "fall" breakfast out there, I certainly wouldn't be drinking this year round. The nutmeg in here screams chilly season even though it is still blistering hot in Florida. This recipe is nutritious and also can keep you full while you're in classes all day!
6. Cinnamon Honey Peach Waffles
I feel like this in itself already explains how great it is going to be. I don't know what it is but there is something about waffles that makes me want breakfast terribly. And cinnamon, honey, peach waffles? Sounds like a much-needed food coma to me! Holly's Helpings really knows the meaning of happiness.
7. Apples and Honey Doughnuts
Homemade. Apple. And. Honey. Doughnuts. Like seriously, a Sunday morning with these and a cup of coffee sounds like heaven on Earth. Though it may not be the healthiest option, I really have a feeling it will be one of the best. This is definitely a recipe I may be trying out first!
