6 Fall Activities For You And Your Roommates, Because We Don't All Have Boyfriends

I'm declaring it fall time even if the calendar (and weather) isn't. Fall is one of the best seasons by far but it seems to be the time all these stories about taking your significant other out on cute fall dates. Well, some of us are single and don't wanna go do cute fall activities by ourselves. So, who's going to know you just as well as a boyfriend and is probably more willing to go to a pumpkin patch? Your roommates.

1. Apple picking

Giphy

Yeah, going to a pumpkin patch is all fun and stuff but have you ever been apple picking? It's 100x more fun and it's all you can eat apples in the middle of the orchard. There's apple cider and corn mazes, which are just the best things ever in the fall. Plus, you two can plan an apple recipe to bake back at your dorm or apartment.

2. Shopping for Halloween decorations

Giphy

When it's time to get spooky, you're going to wanna decorate so might as well go with the gal you share a whole ass area with. Check out the local, obscure pop-up Halloween store for creepy decorations or, heck, check out the Dollar Store to spook up your space on a budget.

3. Watch scary films

Giphy

Good chance is you two are probably a bit creep out by scary films but even better is you'll probably spend the whole movie talking. If you two are uncomfortable with the scary elements of the film, you can just spend your time joking about it to lighten the mood. Perfect time to also eat some pumpkin bread.

4. Pumpkin spice latte run

Giphy

You're never more impulsive than when you're hanging with your roommate. The best impulse decision is a nice afternoon Starbucks run for some pumpkin spice lattes. They're delicious and the adventure to get to Starbucks is just as fun.

5. Friendsgiving

Giphy

As a little nod to Thanksgiving being during the autumn time, a great activity to play with your roommate (plus more friends) is a little personal Friendsgiving. Everyone can do their best to make a side (or purchase one from your local supermarket) and have a quaint dinner.

6. Candle shopping

Giphy

Sounds a little bit weird but the best thing about fall is all the fall scents at Bath & Body Works. I swear, I am not insane it really is the best time ever walking into the store and heading for all the pumpkin scents. Besides, every room needs too many apple pumpkin scented candles.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
