Trump is starting out the year in problematic fashion; from the release of the book "Fire and Fury", questions about his mental health, and even his derogatory comments towards African and Haitian citizens immigrating to America. But compared to those events, a fairly humorous and unbelievable tweet came from Trump's account.
Trump tweeted out that the Fake News Awards would be presented on January 17th and that there is high anticipation for these fictional awards.
The problem with that is that these "awards" are completely biased, and will just exploit the things Trump doesn't like. For now, the recipients are completely anonymous, but many people who are on the news platform are creating ads for a shot at an award for Trump.
Superstars Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah both created "For Your Consideration" ads so they can be recognized by the president and to receive a nomination for fake categories like "Fakest Dishonesty" or "The Eric Trump Memorial Award of Fakeness". Though the awards themselves don't officially have names or titles, the Fake News Awards will definitely have the title as the stupidest thing a president has ever done.
These are just articles and claims Trump feels personally offended about. The fake news trend has been a staple of Trump's campaign and his current presidency, and the fake news awards is a new way platform for the president to express his feelings to the country in a non-ethical way.
From CNN to individual people, the so-called "winners" have been "disproven" with a combination of tweets, exclamation points, and words typed in all caps.
