The leaves are changing and the weather is starting to cool. It's the best time of year where we pull out sweaters and enjoy comfort food. Once it hits September, the year rapidly comes to a close.
When October flashes across my calendar, I get excited about the fall festivities. These festivities include pumpkin carving, pumpkin picking, haunted hayrides, corn mazes, apple picking, pumpkin painting, and visits to haunted houses. This also means that comfort foods such as pumpkin pie, soups, and stews are now becoming everyday staples once again. I look forward to these things every year because it gives me something to do with the people I love, where memories can be created, and work can be put on hold.
On October 31st, it is Halloween. Everyone dresses up and has a day to be someone or something in which they aren't. I, personally, am not the biggest Halloween fan, but I do enjoy those who get really into it. I also really enjoy the candy. To me, Halloween is the kick-off to the holiday season.
In November, we celebrate Thanksgiving. This holiday is underrated. It's a holiday where family and friends gather together and eat food. Memories are created and delicious comfort foods are eaten. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for those around us and for the things we are given. I look forward to Thanksgiving every year because I get to surround myself with the people I love.
December. December is a crazy month for holidays. Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, and the end of the year celebration of New Year's Eve. December gives people the chance to once again, surround themselves with the people they love and create many magical memories. More specifically, through gift giving. In December, we put tons of thought into the gifts we give people. We show those that we love our appreciation for their presence.
The holidays are my favorite time of year! All of the things I mentioned above are why I am so excited for the holidays!
This is how excited I am. What about you?
