Now that it's October and we are officially in the midst of Fall, I believe it is time to recognize the best things about Fall: pumpkin and cinnamon.
When I moved to the South, I thought I would never see Fall again, but I found a little bit of Fall through baking. As someone who loves to bake and try new recipes, Fall is one of my favorite times because of all the fun and creative things you can make.
I have collected a few of my favorite recipes that have been tried out on my friends and approved. So happy Fall y'all!
5. Cinnamon Apple Rings. Recipe found here: http://fortunegoodies.com/cinnamon-apple-rings/ . Tried and tested, this is always a crowd pleaser. Perfect for a Fall party or for a hay ride, so fry up and share. They are also really good with hot apple cider!
4. Pumpkin Bread Rolls. Recipe found here: http://www.handletheheat.com/pumpkin-bread-rolls-c... . These are not easy, but they are worth it. they are perfect for Thanksgiving or a fun family gathering. To make them extra good, after putting on the butter, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on them.
3. Cinnamon Oat Baked Apples. Recipe found here:http://www.iheartnaptime.net/cinnamon-oat-baked-ap... . These are for the slightly more health conscious...if you avoid the whipped cream. These are very easy to make and can easily be converted into a vegan treat if you are creative!
2. Pumpkin cinnamon Rolls. Recipe found here: http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/easy-mini-pumpki... . This one says that they are mini, but you can easily make them different sizes for all occasions. Because you are making them with Pillsbury rolls it is super easy. These are perfect for a movie night in!
1. Monkey Bread. Recipe found here: http://www.pillsbury.com/recipes/grands-monkey-bre... . I get request for this all the time. It is so easy to make, and so addictive. But to warn you there is a TON of butter this bread. It is best to ignore the amount, or make sure there are a lot of people around when you make them. Eat hot and enjoy!
