You Can See Evidence Of God's Work Every Single Day, No Matter Where You Look

You Can See Evidence Of God's Work Every Single Day, No Matter Where You Look
Julie Myers

All of us go through difficult seasons of life, some a lot harder than others.

Often during these times while listening to friends rant, whether they're devoted Christians or not, I hear them call out, "Where is God now? I feel like He has left me to deal with this alone."

It's heartbreaking to hear because it is absolutely not true. In these times, I feel that God is more present than ever, regardless of how it feels. He is holding our hearts so near to Him, hoping we'll lean on Him for help instead of trying to fix it on our own. It's easy to see God and lean on Him on the really good days. It's even easy to pick out pieces of light in darkness on the bad days. But God is present in the normal days, too. He is omnipresent, whether we take the time to realize that or not.

I thought it would be nice to mention some little miracles and evidence that God is here and hearing you, no matter the time of day.

As simple as it is, sunrises and sunsets are pure evidence of all God's beautiful work and majesty. Each day we watch as the sun goes down, surrounded by vivid shades of pinks and oranges that stretch across the horizon in all directions. Yet, this sunset was different than the one before, and the one before that, and the one before that. It's the equivalent of each and every snowflake that falls being a different pattern.

How can thousands of sunsets and millions of snowflakes all be different from the last one?

It isn't possible for any person on this earth to come up with so many different designs and ideas. It can only be the works of someone or something higher -- God.

What's even crazier to add to that thought is that God cares less about the sunrises, the sunsets, the snowflakes, the many various flowers that occur in a lifetime. He cares simply about chasing your heart and the very cells that make up who you are. He handcrafted you so intricately in His image that you are also unlike any other human on this planet. You are uniquely you, the you that God cares so deeply for.

He creates beautiful sights and entertaining games and so much more just because it brings us joy. He is not materialistic and is not enthralled by the things that are of Earth -- but He knows we are, so He gives them to us. He shows what a mighty God He is, day in and day out, desperately trying to get into our hearts through the small things that make us happy, all the while never hoping for anything in return but a relationship with Him.

What a love, right?

Another example of God in everyday life is numbers. We as humans are convinced we came up with the concept of numbers. We use it often -- daily actually. We use it for pricing items, counting words, and more.

Have you ever questioned why that specific mark was chosen to represent a number instead of a letter?

Or why there aren't more numbers than the usual repeating 0-9?

Finally, how do numbers that we made up fit so perfectly for the design of the planet?

The calculations in physics and calculus have been proven to be correct, yet they're using numbers we think we made up. How does a process like this work so well? The design is too perfect for us to be able to comprehend as humans, so it must be the work of a greater design and greater plan, formed by the creator of the universe.

Although I could go on and on about how present God is, I don't want to take up too much space, so let me conclude with the one point that I think everyone can agree upon -- miracles.

Big or small, these things happen every single day. Sometimes, it's in the form of leaving a second later than usual and narrowly avoiding being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes, it's someone making a recovery that was deemed medically impossible. Sometimes, it's staring a near-death experience in the face and walking away smiling without a scratch to show for it. Sometimes, it's a prayer being answered. Sometimes, it's someone who openly rejected the gospel finally accepting Christ. Mountain or molehill, they're miracles.

Let me mention some miracles I've witnessed.

A miracle for me is my car engine exploding while I was driving it down the highway, yet not actually combusting until everyone had exited the car and gotten a safe distance away. Even once the fire consumed my car and reached the gas tank, there were no explosions. The car doors didn't automatically lock and trap us inside. I easily pulled the car over without losing control and crashing.

Or when I was caught in a rip current over vacation and brought out a distance from the shore the day after a man died trying to save his kid, yet right when I felt like I couldn't stay above any longer I drifted safely back to shore.

A miracle for me is one of my best friends falling out of the bed of a moving truck as it went over a speed bump, hitting his head on concrete. Immediately he was in critical condition. From the looks of it, the doctor said that there would be no telling for weeks what would happen or if he would wake up.

Yet, in under 24 hours, his scans came back clear and he was conscious again. Medically, it shouldn't have happened. All the doctor could say was, "I have no idea how this happened. It's impossible. It's a miracle."

A miracle for me is being right in the right spot to talk and help someone I didn't know who had been going through a tremendous trial in life with hurt so deep it practically ran through their veins. It's listening to a friend who was so close to giving up what they had worked so hard towards, only for the prayer to turn around and be answered literally the next day.

It's a random kid coming to hear the gospel for the very first time in their lives. It's a child with a troubled past rebelling against authority, only to come around a week later with a changed heart after a community prays. It's praying about stresses and messes to watch them turn into blessings and lessons.

If you take a look around you, you will see God work in magnificent ways. Take a step of faith, and you'll see more and more reward for putting your trust in Him. God wants you and your heart so badly, and every single day He is pursuing it.

He is there whether you're crying because of a significant other or because you've been laughing too hard with your best friend. He brings the people who will bring you insurmountable joy. He will never leave your side. He hears every time you call out, and it breaks His heart. He is omnipresent, always there, always listening, always answering prayers, and always looking out for your best interest.

Keep an eye out. You'll see Him.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
