They say that New York City is the best place in the world, and that is the absolute truth. The lights, the hustle and the bustle, and the food make the already magical city even better.

It's an amazing place and the adventures are endless. Being in New York City is like being in a dream. The opportunities and possibilities are endless and there is always an adventure out there waiting for you.

Here are 10 reasons why everyone should visit this fabulous city at least once in their lifetime:

1. Broadway Shows

I may be biased about going and seeing shows on Broadway, especially because my dream has always been to be up there performing, but there truly is nothing like sitting in that audience and watching a show.

From Phantom of the Opera, to Wicked, to Anastasia, you cannot help but wonder what it would be like to be on that stage performing. The music, stages, and actors and actresses are truly breathtaking.

No matter what show we go and see, I am always amazed at how they manage to create these amazing works of art.

2. Junior's Cheesecake

What's better than eating New York Style cheesecake and drinking coffee after a Broadway show? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Juniors is within walking distance from many of the theatres and it is the perfect place to discuss the show and your experience, while also satisfying your taste buds and filling up your belly!

3. Central Park

Central Park is one of my favorite places to go when we visit the city. It is gigantic and feels like something right out of a movie.

There is so much to do in Central Park. There are baseball fields where you can watch native New Yorkers play against one another, there are fields of grass for picnics, rocks to climb on for beautiful pictures, and so much more.

My first and favorite memory of Central Park was when my family and I took a horse and carriage ride through the park. I was amazed and am still amazed to this day at how beautiful it is.

4. PIZZA

Pizza is truly, 100%, without a doubt, better in New York City. There is nothing like going to Little Italy and eating fresh Italian style pizza. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

5. Times Square

You haven't had the full NYC experience if you have never been to Times Square. There is always something new to see and you will never be short on entertainment. My favorite time to be in Times Square is at night. There is something about the lights and the signs for stores and Broadway musicals that just makes your heart happy.

6. Top of the Rock

Many people debate between which is better for getting the perfect view of the city: The Empire State Building or the Top of the Rock. I have been to the top of both, but the Top of the Rock is my personal favorite. For those that are not fond of heights, it is not as tall as the Empire State Building and it has the better view!

7. Fifth Avenue

When walking down Fifth Avenue with all of the designer stores like Michael Kors, Dolce and Gabanna, and my personal favorite, Tiffany & Co., you cannot help but feel like the coolest person ever.

Of course, I could never afford anything from any of these stores, but a girl can dream, right?

8. 9/11 Memorial & Museum

Everyone that visits New York City should visit both of these places. To stand where so many people stood in horror on one of the darkest days in our country's history puts life into perspective.

To visit the museum and see so many things from that day and see all of the men, women, firefighters, and law enforcers that lost their lives is truly heartbreaking. It really shows that we can never take life for granted.

9. Southern Hospitality BBQ

I love going to NYC, but one of the downsides is there is no sweet tea. As a southern girl who loves her sweet tea, I can always get my fix at Justin Timberlake's restaurant, Southern Hospitality. The food is amazing and the BBQ and macaroni and cheese are to die for.

Plus, how cool is it to say you have been to Justin Timberlake's restaurant? Pretty darn cool.

10. Ellen's Stardust Diner

The perfect place to go for a late night snack like a milkshake or cheeseburger, or both, is Ellen's Stardust Diner. They have the greatest milkshakes and ice cream, but the best part about this restaurant is the entertainment.

Aspiring Broadway actors and actresses work here as waiters and waitresses to pay for their classes to make it to Broadway. They wait tables and take orders, but they also perform songs throughout the night. Whatever song you can imagine, from different genres and decades, they can sing it. This is always a fun night with family or friends!

Whether you go for a week, a few days, or even just a day, everyone should experience New York City in their lifetime. If you have the opportunity to visit this beautiful city, check out one of these places.

I promise you will not be disappointed!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
