Summertime is just around the corner and adventure very often follows after it. There is seldom a person who doesn't look to summer for some fun times and making some great memories. For those of us who are still in school especially, whether you have yet to graduate high school, or you're still in college, a little bit of good fun and wholesome adventure is something we could all use (emphasis on “good” and “wholesome”). One way a person could pursue this is by making a summer bucket list, and filling it with slightly outrageous goals and slightly crazy risks, all while not putting their lives or wellbeing in jeopardy. Everyone could use a little more excitement in their life, and a summer bucket list might just grant them the extraordinary experiences and memories they're looking to accomplish.
Regular bucket lists got their name from being a list of things people wanted to do before their lives ended, or before they “kicked the bucket,” so to speak. Summer bucket lists came about because people wanted to accomplish things during their time off in the summer. Whether it's a regular bucket list or a summer bucket list, it's been my experience that they expand a person’s horizons, contribute to their growth as an individual and has great potential to add to that person’s maturation. I've found courage and boldness are necessary for some of the goals on a bucket list. Depending on the kind of goals a person sets for themselves, one can become a better individual upon the completion of most or all of their goals.
For some people, adventure is something they do on a regular basis. A summer bucket list would just be a continuation of what they're already doing. They might, however, choose to spice things up a little bit by creating a summer bucket list that would be out of the ordinary, even for themselves. Every person has areas where they could improve in their life. A well-thought out summer bucket list could help with that.
I would like to offer a word of caution. While risk-taking can be a very good thing, it can also be a very bad thing. A person with a bucket list should never do something that puts themselves or anyone else in danger. The object of a goal on a bucket list should never be to harm someone. Risk-taking should never be done foolishly or carelessly. The purpose of every goal on a bucket list should be for the betterment of the person accomplishing those goals and any people involved in the completion of the bucket list.
Having a summer bucket list full of goals, activities, etc. that are a little different for someone can definitely add some excitement to their life. There's nothing wrong with desiring to live life to the fullest. Finding good, healthy and wholesome ways to get out of one’s comfort zone can be very beneficial to a person. Imagine what kind of stories that could be told after some slightly crazy adventure? Take advantage of your summer by making it fun and adventurous!
