Everyone Deserves A Christmas Card
History

Christmas or a tradition that your family celebrates, if any, is an important time of the year. It is the best time of the year for you and your family to sit together and have a good time during the holidays, and spend time with each other. Don’t forget that on these holidays, there is a ton of food, too! So, family, food, friends, gifts, etc. what could be better? Nothing is compared to spending time with your family during the holidays. How about those who are not able to be home with their family during these times? Well, we can surely help them celebrate the holidays, too.

Some people may not have families due to tragic accidents, natural deaths, and many other reasons. The soldiers who fight for us deserve to have something during Christmas if they cannot be with their families, or even if they are with their families, it is something nice we could do to thank them for all that they have done. Some of these holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, can be tough times for those who are deployed, so let’s give them something that can make it a little more bearable. There are plenty of addresses to send a card to through the mail and they will be forwarded to our troops. It is the least that we can do.

How about children who do not have a family? Well, we can absolutely do something for them as well! Some places such as Walmart and other major stores have a Christmas tree that has little angel tags on it. It gives the child’s name and what they would like for Christmas. Normally, these children do not ask for much, just a little something so they could play with new toys like their friends. That is only one of the various options out there today. There is also the “Toys for Tots” foundation. They collect toys during the Christmas season and then wrap them to give to children in need. These are great things to do for children who need it.

Everyone deserves something, even if it is only a card. We all deserve to have a good holiday, but sometimes people do not think about the less fortunate or our soldiers that are overseas. All people should know that someone is thinking about them during these times. Send a card, buy a small toy, do anything that pleases you. I’m not saying that you have to do these things. They are simply suggestions on how to help everyone have a nice holiday, Something that everyone deserves.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
