Alcohol is present in everyone's life, whether they decide to drink it or not. Alcohol makes appearances at parties, movies, TV commercials, the supermarket, that liquor store around the corner from your house and more. For some college students, alcohol is a part of their experience, but it's definitely a learning process. Four years can seem like enough time to know your limits, but limits can always be tested. Each year is a learning experience; students decide what career path they decide to pursue, who they want to be around, and who they want to be. These different stages are each unique, and each of them can be described by these signature drinks.
Freshman: Long Island Iced Tea
Just like how this drink is a mix of (dangerous) alcohols, freshman year is a mix of (dangerous and not so dangerous) decisions. Some people think that they know what to expect coming into college, but the reality is that no one can prepare you for these next four years. There will be moments of extreme highs, like the feeling of having one LIT, and extreme lows, which can be replicated after having three LIT's and ending up on your bathroom floor that night.
Sophomore: Shots
For those of you who don't know, sophomore literally translates to "wise fool." That is a pretty good description for this year. Shots are always a questionable decision, similar to every decision you make sophomore year. Students think they're experienced enough to handle these decisions and continue to make them, just like how every sophomore thinks they can handle one more shot.
Junior: Wine
Junior's think they're classy, just like wine is supposed to be. Turns out, wine can be bought for $8, which isn't that classy. When juniors realize how expensive it is to live off campus/start being a real person, they're going to opt for the $8 wine and make some not-so-classy decisions.
Senior: Champagne
There's a lot to celebrate senior year. You're the oldest in the school, you have the most power (or it seems like it), everyone looks up to you and you get to go into the real world soon. Even though graduation might not make you happy, champagne will still bring you that happy drunk everybody loves. Make senior year go out with a bang, just like that pop of the champagne bottle.
