Every Setback Is A Setup For An Even Greater Comeback

Thomas Rhett was really on to something when he wrote, "You never know what's gonna happen. You make your plans and you hear God laughing." Life is unpredictable with changes. Some changes are planned and some come abruptly and without notice.

What we need to have is acceptance...

Accept that you're going to have negative experiences. No, I'm not being a pessimist. In fact, I'm being an optimist. You see, the desire for a more positive experience is itself a negative experience. Paradoxically, the acceptance of your negative experience is itself a positive experience. Mind blown, right? Everything worthwhile in life is achieved through overcoming the associated negative experience.

We should accept vulnerability and our weaknesses. Through acceptance, you become an unstoppable force to be reckoned with.

Let's be honest, life does suck sometimes. We live in a world dominated by social media and keep up with one another online. So, while you may be having a rough time filled with problems, everyone else appears to have a blissful life online. What's important is to realize your social realm tends to only be filled with snapshots of happiness and success. That this snippet is just a mere hindrance of reality. Just step away from social media for a bit. Accept that life can suck sometimes and that is okay.

Another thing to accept is that you are always going to have problems in life. They never stop, they merely get exchanged or upgraded. Think you found a solution to a problem? Great, but now you have more problems created from your solution. Not following me? Let's say that you don't feel prepared on work assignments. That's definitely a problem. A proposed solution could be is to arrange a meeting time with your manager to thoroughly go over your work assignments. Now you have to find time to meet with your supervisor and come with questions on what is unclear to you. These are what I call good problems. The moral here is to not hope for a life with no problems, but to hope for a life with good problems. Accept the never ending problems.

Acceptance is the key word here. Accept the negative experiences, that life suck sometimes, and that problems will never end.

Accept the setbacks for they are opportunities given to you for even greater comebacks.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
