Traveling to 6 towns/cities in 12 days was exhausting, much more time was definitely necessary, especially if you're planning on venturing to more than 2 towns.
I went to the following towns/cities and loved each and every one of them, in their own unique ways.
- Madrid – 3 Days
- Córdoba – 2 Days
- Seville –2 Days
- Toledo – 1 Day
- Granada – 2 Days
- Barcelona – 2 Days
Now for the rating….
Yes, I did say I loved each and every one of them. However, I loved some more than others.
Madrid and Seville were definitely my favorites which were more modern, but in a different way then Barcelona. Both Madrid and Seville had older buildings and roads along with more open areas rather than tight city quarters like Barcelona. Madrid also had serval open markets with various types of food ranging anywhe

Ranking in the middle were the towns of Córdoba, Granada, and Toledo. These were more old fashion towns opposed to a more modern setting in bigger cities such as Madrid and Barcelona. I did not spend much time in these towns but had an amazing time in them regardless. The Alhambra in Granada was beautiful, as you can see in the picture below. It was built as both a palace and fortress for the Moorish monarchs.

Lastly, I am sad to admit that Barcelona was the least enjoyable. Have you ever been to New York? Barcelona is a replica of the Big Apple. All the traffic and tall, modern buildings reminded me the most of NYC, except for the fact that everything is in Spanish rather than English.
Even though Barcelona was not my favorite, I most certainly enjoyed the amazing experience of visiting the beautiful Gothic Corridor. The Corridor reminded me more of Madrid or Toledo in the respect that it was much more historical, being composed of the cobblestone streets and had older architecture.
Although Barcelona was not my favorite part of the trip, the beach was also another beautiful highlight. Even though the water was rough, it was very clear and the sand was bright. It was a great change of pace from the busy city setting.

Overall, I would certainly go back to Spain, but I may skip over Barcelona this time. However, I do recommend that all first-timers go to at least say you've been and to determine what you think of it on your own.
If you’re planning your next vacation destination…Spain is an absolute must!
