The world deserves better, and we deserve better! I'm not a crazy obsessed tree hugger but I see the need to decrease the amount of unnecessary waste! Don't you? The thing is, there are so many little things that add up in the end. Sure, what's one more minute in the shower, what's one more toilet flush, what's one more anything? That one more, from everyone is A LOT more! So just be a little more conscientious of what you use and how you use it. Everyone needs it, and we need to think about the future. There are times where something happens in your house where you may not have water for a few days, and we deal with it. But, only in times like those do we realize how much we truly waste! That could be anyone's future at one point, where we struggle to have such resources so easily available. So here's a few friendly tips to get you started on making a small difference:

Turn off the water while brushing your teeth

You use roughly 5 gallons of water, just to brush your teeth. That's CRAZY!

Don't take a 20 minute shower, cut your time

Giphy

Keep it between 5-10 minutes! It's bad for your skin and the environment! Around 40 gallons of water are used in 10 minutes in the shower, now just imagine when you spend 20 minutes.

Lower the amount of flushes on your toilet

Maybe over night, you don't need to always flush it. Luckily, new toilets now use up to 1.6 gallons per flush versus older toilets that used up to 3.5-7 gallons per flush! But, we can still reduce it.

Recycle!!!!

Giphy

Put the bottle in the right garbage bin! Recycle your cardboard! Recycle your clothes! IT'S SO EASY!

When you wash the dishes, don't leave the sink running!

Use what you need to get the job done.

DIY anything plastic!

Seriously! Use those containers to store coins, water plants, make a game, or use it to hold other things! I don't know, get creative. If not, again: recycle.

Plant some flowers or get some cool succulents!

It creates an aesthetic environment and a green one too!

BUY  reusable water bottles!

You can have water bottles as backup, but it takes 2 seconds to refill your reusable water bottles on a daily basis.

Use those reusable bags that you see everywhere! They are great!

Plastic bags are out of style and bad for the environment. Don't just throw them away. Use them for something else if you really need them! But on your next grocery run, try using those reusable and durable bags! It makes your life easier anyway when you have to put everything away at home! They have a lot of room!

Offer your friends a ride! YAY carpooling!

It saves up on gas and gives you great company!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
