Engaging After Weeks Of Misunderstandings
Piscart

It has been a month now since I started school. I was afraid that iIwould never get used to being in college. However, I got used to it and the past few weeks have been so important to me.

I was finally starting to accept that I was old enough to look out for myself and do my homework on time. Finding time to do my homework was very difficult -- as was time management. During these past few weeks in class, I have been paying attention and taking notes. Especially for Anatomy and Physiology, I have been so stressed out because I had a test coming up. I spent all my time studying for two weeks. When I finally took the exam, I was so relieved that I got it over with. I was so proud of myself because I used my time wisely to do both my homework and assignments. After the exam, we started learning something new. I was taking notes in A & P, I was asking questions and participating. This might sound strange, but iInever ask questions -- I always take notes and pay attention to the discussions but I never say a word. I did not feel comfortable in class; I was still getting used to college.

This week things were a little bit different. I took notes, paid attention and participated in class. It felt even better because my answers were good and the professor complimented me. I was so proud of myself, and I will continue to work hard each and every day. I know how to manage my time and where I can get help. Engaging in class was a struggle for me in the beginning but now I know I can do it ; it also helps with understanding. It also builds confidence in yourself: the more you participate, the more confident you get to speak up and say what is on your mind. It also shows the professor that you are paying attention and you are learning. Asking questions is a good way to get some answers for things that you do not understand. Participating in my science class was like a great victory for me and now I have proven to myself that I can do more. I need to work harder because I know I can do it. I also know that I can do anything that I put my mind into, There is nothing that no one cannot do. I know sometimes it might look difficult but it is only difficult in your eyes, if you look harder and think a little harder you will see that it was just a cover. You can achieve everything. I believe in myself and I will always push myself to be better and stronger so I can achieve all my dreams and be successful.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
