I Got Engaged At 21, And No, That's Not Too Young, Because When You Know, You Know

I Got Engaged At 21, And No, That's Not Too Young, Because When You Know, You Know

My first Odyssey article I ever wrote was all about how I don't have a dream job, and my only two dreams in life are to become a wife and a mom someday. And I am so excited to announce that one of those things is coming true soon, but some may think it's too soon. Well, I don't think it's too soon.

As they say, "When you know, you know" and that goes for my fiance and I as well.

It still feels so weird saying fiance as opposed to boyfriend, in a good way, of course. Yes, we're only seniors in college this fall, but we don't plan to get married until after we graduate with our Bachelor's degrees.

And yes, there is still more schooling in the future for him as he pursues his Master's degree, and I will need to lock down a full-time job once I graduate, but we both just... know.

We know that God will get us through everything. We know that even though it's not ideal for most people to get married or even engaged so young, we'll figure it out.

And I don't mean that in an "Oh, love will get us through everything" naive kind of way. I mean it in a "We've gotten through so much together and we're stronger together," kind of way.

I truly believe he is my other half and he pushes me to be a better version of myself.

I guess a level of maturity and clarity is required for this type of thing to work out, but throughout our entire relationship, we have both been really level-headed and mature about every trial that's come our way so far.

At the end of it all, every relationship is different and unique, but mine is on the road to forever, and I could not be more excited for it to start.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
