12 Signs You Live In An Endless Winter
LoveThisPic

You wake up to snow falling outside, as usual. In fact, you'd be confused if it wasn't snowing, or at least more snowy than you went to sleep. You'll find a lot of the points on this list to be very relatable. You'll probably even share them with your friends and laugh. The outside, warmer world might think some of these things are ridiculous or incomprehensible, but for you, they're all just part of another day in a life of winter.

If you're one of those people that live in a place where it rarely snows at all, this will give you a glimpse into the lives of your more Northern neighbors and what we deal with.

See below for a list of 12 signs you live in an eternal winter wonderland:

1. You don’t even bother to clean off your car when you go somewhere.

“All I need is this tiny clear space on the windshield. This is fine," you say, while carelessly wielding the snow brush with one hand and holding your coffee in the other.

2. You get confused when friends in other parts of the country talk about their outside activities.

“You're playing tennis? It’s literally a blizzard here right now. And there's like four feet of snow on the ground.”

3. It feels hot out any time it’s above freezing.

Or even right at freezing. Or even in the 20's sometimes.

4. When someone asks you to check the forecast and it’s literally cold with snow every day.

“Winter. The forecast is winter.”

5. You don’t mind driving on snow and ice.

You’re so good at it it’s actually fun!

6. Winter sports and outside activities stop being fun.

“I read. Sometimes I binge watch TV shows I don’t care about. Anything indoors and warm, really.”

7. Everyone drinks.

Drinking = distraction. And maybe a little bit of good drama. All is forgiven in the morning, though, because everyone is ridiculous at least once during the winter (but probably a lot more than once).

8. Produce at the store sucks...

...but who wants cold foods anyway. Soup over salad every day.

9. You’re so pale.

Don’t forget that Vitamin D supplement.

10. When the sun comes out it’s disorienting.

“Why is everything so bright?!”

11. Someone talks about summer plans and all you can do is roll your eyes.

“Summer? What’s that?”

12. When spring finally arrives it takes a couple of weeks to break your habit of layering up every time you leave the house.

And you dress to be warm.

In the end, though, the winter, with its glittering snow, trees coated in white and giant icicles, is beautiful. And even though our summers may be short, we know exactly how to get maximum enjoyment out of them. After all, we have a long winter to think about it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
