Holiday Party

It's the beginning of December and the time has come for all of us to feel that slight anxiety about how our year went overall.

I personally feel excited for the end of the year to come to a close and start anew. I also see this as a time of reflection on how well I did this year. I hope we all sit and rummage through our memories of the year. In the end, we should decide to not regret anything but take everything as a lesson.

Lessons that we learned and allowed us to move forward to become a better person. Every day and every minute is another chance for us to get it right, but it's something about the new year that inspires us all.

1. Wow, it's already December and I still have some clothes in my suitcase from my summer vacation?

Maybe that's just me?

2. You can't even remember the resolutions you set last year.

"It's ok," we all say to ourselves. It happens every year.

3. The holiday cheer and snow is inevitably inspiring.

I can't help but feel like a kid every time there is snow on the ground.

4. All TV channels start their holiday countdowns 40 days prior.

Thanksgiving just passed three days ago....this is totally normal.

5. Hot cocoa is a necessity at the end of each day.

Add a little bit of rum in there....trust me.

6. After considering all that you have done over the year, you promise yourself to do better on January 1, 2018.

You can certainly try!

7. You think of giving back to others and helping out.

Give a lot and take in all the joys that giving brings.

8. Stressing slightly over executing the best holiday plans.

I feel anxiety when planning to see all my friends because I want to have enough time with all of them. All in all, I know I will enjoy being surrounded by love!

9. Being surrounded by loved ones is all that matters around the holidays.

A mother's homecooked meal is always looked forward to.

10. No matter how your year went, as long as you feel inspired to do better, then you are already succeeding.

Happy Holidays to all, and a great new year to come. Many blessings and happy wishes!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
