It took me awhile to realize that I have a RBF. It wasn’t until I was in high school and someone came up to me in the hallway (one of my class friends) and asked if I was OK because I looked mad. I was so confused because I was actually having a pretty good day. If you suffer from RBF like me then you would understand these encounters and maybe even relate to some of them.
1. Your friends tell you afterward that they saw you on campus but didn’t say “hi” because you looked mad.
I was truly just walking to class like any other day but all right.
2. A friend tells you originally they were scared to talk to you.
Almost every person I have met has said this.3. Your professor calls you out all the way in the back row to put a smile on your face.
I was just trying to listen to your lecture. I’m sorry if my RBF was affecting you that much (oops).
4. A stranger at a bar asks if you’re OK.
I’m literally just standing here (not to mention I’m with five other people). Thank you for being concerned, though.
5. Random people will give you rude looks or roll their eyes while at a mall or even a park.
I thought they were just being rude but I guess they think I’m doing the same thing to them (my bad guys).
6. Another stranger walks past you and tells you “be happy!"
Once again I’m just standing here with my friends and I am having a fun night, really I am.
7. The only two seats open in the entire class are the ones beside you.
Well, that's not obvious at all.8. A guy tells you he didn't talk to you first because you looked like a b*tch.
I'm sorry I look so unapproachable.
