With all the new shows on television this year, What are you watching this fall? I am watching one of my new favorite television shows form last year, which is Empire on Fox network. Where do I start with this wonderful show. If you have not seen this show let me introduce you to it a little.

Lets start with the Empire family: the Lyon's. Lucious Lyon (Terence Howard), father of the family and Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson), matriarch are a power couple, even though they are not together. They have three sons Andre (Trai Byers), Jamal (Jussie Smollett), and Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Y. Gray).

Lucious and Cookie built a company, a name, and a brand. Lucious and Cookie both have a past that haunts them everyday they have things coming for them good and bad. Lucas took it over when cookie was in jail, then when Cookie got out she wanted what was rightfully hers. Then everyone finds out that Lucious had been hiding his medical problems from them all. This cause for the family to turn into uproar. Who will rightfully own the company when Lucious passes away? Lucious is grooming one of his sons to take over his business, but this only breaks the brothers apart. This all came out in the first season and some other things that you will have to watch it to find out about.

As the second season is only three episodes in it already has you hanging on to your seat for dear life.

There are many reasons to watch Empire:

1. It has amazing music from the actors and actresses in the show and even from some of your favorite artists.

2. The actors are beautiful.

3. It has drama.

4. It has comedy.

5. It is basically a musical with some songs because they come out before the episode premieres.

This show has many twists and turns that surprise you. One may say they can never guess what is coming next. One viewer that has been watching Empire since the very first episode said, "The reason I watch Empire is because of the drama and I like to watch shows that portray African Americans as strong and successful." - Gabby B.

Overall, everyone should give Empire a try. Its a really good show.
