Well, we are now full-steam ahead and en route to my least favorite time of the year ... Finals Week.
It's a time that we all shed a tear or two, get stressed out and have at least one to three breakdowns. It's fine, though, we're fine.
You may be running on caffeine and zero sleep, but we've got it. We will make it through, some way, some how.
1. When you look at your planner and see how fast finals are approaching and you're just not ready and you're not OK.
It physically hurts to look at a calendar
2. When you're just in disbelief about how much actual work and studying that you have to do.
So many projects, papers and exams ... I just really don't want to.
3. Your to-do list is out of control.
There's a million things you need to do and there's just is not enough hours. I need more than 24 hours in a day.
4. You don't have time to sleep or do anything for fun because every hour is dedicated to studying.
It's so sad — no more fun weekends, no more staying up late, no more fun whatsoever. It's all about studying; you don't even see your friends anymore because you're stuck in the library all day, everyday.
5. You cry or have some sort of mental breakdown at least once a day.
You're so emotional and fragile that the tiniest little thing can set you off due to all the stress and lack of sleep. It's OK to cry; call your mom and you will feel better.
6. You stress eat, which includes that pint of Ben & Jerry's that you keep in your freezer and that you swore you would only eat in emergency situations.
Honestly, you need at least four pints of Ben & Jerry's to make it through finals. Thank goodness for half-baked and mil and cookies. It's what gives me strength.
7. When your teacher tells you to just study the final guide, but you know that they are straight up lying to you.
Study. Everything.
8. When the stress eats away at you as you study for the exam and you're just not in a good place.
Don't touch me, don't look at me, don't even think about me. It's finals and I'm stressed and just not in a good mood.
9. After all of your studying, you go to take your exams.
You take the longest route to get there and you try to keep calm and brace yourself for the mental toll that you are about to endure.
10. You start to doubt yourself and your abilities, wondering if you can really do it.
Were those 19 hours in the library good enough? These are the questions that haunt you in the wee hours of the night.
11. Even so, you handle those curve ball questions that your professor throws at you and feel like a straight up boss.
Nothing's better than knowing those really hard questions and you just feel so amazing.
12. You get the test and you walk out feeling accomplished knowing all that studying paid off.
You did it, you passed! Just get through the rest and you're home-free.
13. You finish the rest of your exams and get to go home.
Nothing compares to the joy that you feel when you leave your last exam.
