Without y'all, I would be nowhere.

To all my education major buddies,

The most comforting aspect of majoring in education are the built-in best friends that come with it. I know that I always have a support group, friends to laugh with and cry with, and one day, friends to share stories about my students with. My education major buddies are really the best, and that is simply the only way to put it.

I have friends that are willing to look at lesson plans and edit papers at 11 at night with. Without all the texts and group messages, I would be so lonely (especially my technology group message, shout out to Jenn, Natalie, Ashton, and Sarah, y'all are the best).

I have friends that share my love for coffee with, because without caffeine teachers simply could not survive! I have friends that are all going through the struggle of going to an 8 AM that lasts 2 hours and forty-five minutes. I have friends that make laugh me and watch how-to videos with (shout out to Sarah, without you, I wouldn't know how to make the best BLT). I have friends that have been through the many tears my math class has brought me, from base ten to inductive and deductive reasoning.

I have friends to vent to about registering for classes. I have friends to show my Pinterest Board of what my future classroom to look like to. The best of all is that I have friends that love me for who I am, support me, make me laugh no matter the circumstance of the day. To my education major buddies, I really do love every single one of yall. From the first day of class being the award girl sharing facts about myself with, to the girl who sends my education besties ugly Snapchats of myself, our friendship has grown in ways I cannot even imagine.

It is hard to put into words what I would be without the sweet friendships I have made. The College of Charleston may not have known that placing me in a class with certain people would create lifelong friendships, and for that a million thank you’s. The Lord sure knows how to work in mysterious ways, and I am beyond thankful for that, because without Him, I would not have the friends I have now.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
