The leaves are changing, the air is chilly, it's finally cold enough to wear sweatshirts, and nothing sounds better than sitting on the couch and watching a movie. Except, as the nights grow colder you can't help but think eating junk food on the couch would be better if someone was there to join.
Welcome to cuffing season ladies, aka the time of year when everyone feels the need to settle down and find someone to date until the Spring.
No one can deny that doing absolutely nothing and just staying inside eating your weight in take out and putting on Netflix when it's below 40 degrees out is truly one of the best things about Fall and Winter. However, doing that single can be pretty lonely.
And if you're in a predicament where you are okay with being single and living your own life but the seasonal depression is kicking in and you just need someone there to hold you and play with your hair, then cuffing season is the perfect time to act on those primal instincts find someone safe and settle down (at least for the next 4-5 months).
Now the only issue with cuffing season is the person you're spending all your time with might actually want to be cuffed. So cuffing season can kind of be a double-edged sword in the sense because you want all the things that come with a relationship, but not the title. You want to be cuffed, but not for longer than Winter usually lasts. If by the end of Winter you actually want a relationship, then great! But if not it's important to have that conversation with your cuffing season partner.
Cuffing season is similar to a summer fling, but slightly more dangerous because it's much easier to catch feelings when you're not just sleeping together and actually enjoying each others company. So tread lightly, and good luck out there.
