As one of the best days of the year approaches, the ideas of turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes have danced around everyone's head.

Thanksgiving is holiday that holds a near and dear place in everyone's heart. I mean, who else can't wait for a full day of football, eating, drinking and being together with your family?

As the time passes and we get closer to the best day of the year, it's hard to contain ourselves.

1. When you're awoken on Thanksgiving morning by the smell of all the fixings being prepared.

You know that smell; the buttery aroma that just makes your stomach rumble every time you take a breath.

2. When all the food looks really good, but you're not allowed to touch or eat any of it until dinner.

It's cruel and unusual punishment to make someone wait all day to enjoy all of the food.

3. When your mom brings out the appetizers to hold you over, though.

I'm the most thankful for the appetizers to hold me over until dinner.

4. When you sit down to eat and the anticipation is just too much to handle.

You feel the adrenaline coursing through your veins, your stomach rumbles a great big roar and you are just so ready to dive in and inhale absolutely everything on the table.

5. When you pass everything around the table and load up your plate.

Stuffing, mashed potatoes and turkey, oh my!

6. When you get seconds and thirds and fourths because it's Thanksgiving and it's a magical day, so it's OK.

Pass me every plate again and again because you know that you have to eat like it is your last day on Earth.

7. When your parents let you sip on the punch and it's a little strong.

You go from tipsy to full on lit, and it's OK. It's fine, it's Thanksgiving!

8. You're also so full that all you wanna do is lay down on the couch and nap.

When your body says no more, but your heart says just one more scoop.

9. Then it's time for dessert!

Apple pie, pumpkin pie ... everywhere there is just pie and more pie!

10. You consume at least two slices of pie because again, it's Thanksgiving and that is what you're supposed to do.

A slice of apple and pumpkin pie with a scoop of that vanilla ice cream on the side, please and thank you.

11. Now you're really full. Like really, really full, but you have to sit there and come to terms with the fact that you just ate your body weight in food.

You may feel like you're about to implode on the walls and may or may not need some TUMS.

12. So now you have no other choice other than to lie down and accept your fate, which is death by a food coma.

It's fine, though, we're fine!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
