As a college student, eating healthy can be a major struggle. From the constant burgers and fries from the dining hall to the binge-eating while cramming for exams at 2 a.m., it's very hard to manage a healthy diet. However, studies have proven that eating healthier overall makes you a happier person. Here are some benefits of eating healthy:

1. It helps control your weight.

If you're looking to get in shape, one of the most helpful things you can do is manage what you eat. One of the easiest ways to lose weight is to control your diet. Although working out is beneficial as well, if you're inputting healthy food in your diet, you will have less weight to lose in the first place.

2. You live longer.

Healthy foods help clear your blood, decrease your chances of high cholesterol, and overall prevent many other harmful issues. Practicing any kind of healthy habits is likely to increase longevity.

3. It can help control acne.

Although there is controversy regarding what foods really cause acne, it's better to be safe than sorry. Be careful what you put in your body, your body may react poorly. If you're looking for clearer skin it's important to have a balanced diet. (Green tea is also a great way to start!)

4. It enhances your mood.

Overall, the food you eat correlates to your mood. If you find yourself being dreary and lazy, it's likely due to your diet. Healthy foods had endless benefits, and enhancing your mood is just one of them.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
