Hey, are you a college student? Or on a food budget? Maybe you’re just interested in trying something new but want it to be simple?

I have a simple yet tasty meal, or snack, that can be prepared in under 15mins; with just a few basic ingredients that grace most of our shelves or pantries. Are you ready? Let’s get started:

Here is what you will need:
1 Bowl for mixing your ingredients
1 Spoon or fork

1 Frying pan and a Top Cook Stove
1 Medium Egg
2 Saltine Crackers
1 Can of Tuna or you can use canned Salmon, Chicken, or use this to revamp some leftovers
1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil or Coconut Oil (You’re the Chef, your preference matters)

Here is where you get creative Chef! Add whatever seasonings you prefer at this point. I like to add:

  • A dash of Pepper
  • A dash of Cheyenne Pepper
  • A dash of Garlic Powder
  • A Dash of Onion Powder

Now this Recipe makes 1, hamburger sized patty. But, you can add more to it if you’d like to try this for a group or maybe you just want to eat more than 1! (I know I usually do, it’s too tasty to stick with one.)

STEP 1: Gather your ingredients and place your Frying pan and Oil on stove set to medium Heat.

STEP 2: Have your Mixing-Bowl ready.

STEP 3: Wash the top of your Tuna can. Open and drain liquid from can and using your fork, scrape Tune into your Mixing-Bowl.

STEP 4: Add your desired Seasonings.

STEP 5: Crush and add 2 Saltine Crackers to your Mixing-Bowl.

STEP 6: Crack open and add your Egg to the Mixing-Bowl. (It is a good idea to keep the trash nearby to dispose of the shell without contaminating your hands.)

STEP 7: Mix ingredients thoroughly, kneading with your hands and folding to insure ingredients are well mixed. (If you do not wish to touch with your bare hands wear a glove or use a Fork.)

STEP 8: Make a Patty with your now mixed ingredients.

STEP 9: WARNING! Check Oil to make sure it is hot and ready for the patty. (Too cold and the oil will soak your patty, to hot and it will splatter and burn.) A safe way to check is to throw in a few crumbs from the crackers. If they sizzle the pan and oil is ready. If they crackle and bounce around, turn down your heat and remove the pan tell it cools down.

STEP 10: Cook on medium heat tell both sides are golden brown (2 to 3 Minutes per side.)

Finally Service and enjoy! Make a green or pasta salad to go with this, or just throw it between a hamburger-bun and add your own fixings with a side of chips. Don't let simplicity stop you from experimenting! Understand with food your limited only by your imagination.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
