It is about that time of year when everything seems to come with a world wind of fire. Internships, exams and the rush of spring activities.
Although I am extremely guilty of getting too caught up in the hustle and bustle of life during this time, I have recently been reminded how important it is to make each day count.
Stop thinking about your summer plans or that really difficult exam coming up in a few weeks. Focus on each passing day as it comes.
Too often we get caught up in trying to plan the future that we forget how valuable our time in the present can be.
We try to enjoy spring break without coming to terms with the preexisting notion that life will hit us hard the week after. We try to plan out our summer before enjoying the remaining months of our last semester.
It is great to plan ahead. I love using my planner and as my mom calls it "being ahead of the game" is a way to stay successful. However, sometimes it is more important to also stay in the game.
You don't always need to be ahead especially if being ahead makes you miss out on days that could have made for great memories. Life goes by so fast that if we continue planning for the future, we will miss prime moments happening all around us.
So, as the spring months quickly approach, remember to enjoy the beauty in each day. Make each day count for what is it and not what it could be. Spend more time living each day spontaneously and less time overworking yourself with stress.
These last months are so busy, but don't let the busy overpower the precious days you are missing out on.
