I think that we can all agree that being sick is the absolute worst. I think we can also all agree that being sick in college is even worse than that.

1. I do not have time for this.

It's true. I have 2 group projects, an essay, a few quizzes, and a big test coming up. Do I have time for these germs to get in my way? No thank you. College students are way too busy to be kept down by a virus.

2. Where's my mom when I need her?

All of our lives, we got annoyed when we were being smothered with love and care. Now, there's nothing we want more. I swear mom, I'll never complain about your soup and forehead kisses again.

3. Why is my roommate suddenly not around?

It's not a mystery when you start to cough and your roommate suddenly has a new BFF. Sadly, they're probably smart because you'll just want them to wait on you.

4. Why is medicine so expensive?

I swear medicine is only $2 when your mom is the one buying it. Now, it's a waste of money to get the proper care... and I'd rather be sick than broke.

5. Germs. Ew. Lysol EVERYTHING.

Door handles, light switches, bed posts, desks. When I say everything, I mean everything. These germs have got to go.

6. I'm way too tired.

Pulling an all-dayer in college is hard. It's even harder when your body is trying to fight off a virus. Time to break out the espresso shots to get your homework done.

7. I promise I'm not being lazy.

There's no other reason that I would fall asleep with all of the lights on and when wearing a bra. You've got to know that those two signs alone indicate that something's seriously wrong with my body.

8. Sleep is for the weak... and I am weak right now.

Sometimes, you just have to give in and put the assignments away for a few hours so you can recover.

9. Why does everything hurt?

If it's on my body, you can be sure that it's hurting. My nose, ears, eyes, stomach, bones... you name it.

10. I swear I'll never get sick again.

Sometimes you gotta make a deal with your body and see how long it lasts. Sometimes it's a few weeks, and other times it's a few months. As college students, sometimes you gotta stop sacrificing sleep, nutrition, and sanity and take a break so this doesn't happen again.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
