Have you ever wanted to travel across the Atlantic Ocean and visit the European continent? Have you ever dreamed of walking La Rambla in Barcelona, drinking wine in Nice, or walking the Coliseum in Rome? Well, I did and my dreams became a reality. Studying abroad in Europe not only helped me respect other cultures, but I learned how other countries work on a once in a lifetime trip.
Barcelona, Spain houses buildings from Antonio Gaudi, La Rambla, Sagrada Familia, and so much more. La Rambla is one of the most famous streets in the world. Not only is it a gorgeous walkway covered in florist booths, but it is full of Spanish culture. La Rambla connects Plaça de Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus Monument at Port Vell. Plaça de Catalunya is the square of Barcelona where the city government sits across from the government of Catalonia (a province in Spain that is trying to become an independent nation.
There is nothing better than relaxing on the Cote d'Azur with some friends and some music. The French Riviera is absolutely gorgeous. The water is four different shades of blue. The coast of Nice, France is covered in rocks rather than sand, meaning you can spend your time worrying about other things besides sand in places where it doesn't belong.
Florence and Rome. Italy was by far my favourite cities of my trip. As an art nerd, I loved being in the cities that hold Michelangelo's Pieta, Bernini's Ecstasy of St. Teresa, and Brunelleschi's dome. I loved being surrounded by the Italian culture (I especially loved the pizza!!).
