A new year of college is right around the corner. Last semester you swore to have a cleaner, prettier, and more organized living space. Luckily, there are plenty of organization gadgets out there. With these 8 organizers, you'll be motivated to keep your place in top shape.

1. Makeup organizer

Why cram your makeup collection into drawers when you can organize it and put it on display? Get this organizer from Amazon for $13.25.

2. Key Hangers

You'll never lose your keys again with cute hangers. Get this set of six from World Market for $9.54.

3. Drawer Organizers

You'll never lose your matching socks again if you remember a drawer organizer. Try this one from Target for $15.99.

4. Shoe Rack

Dorm rooms and apartments are notorious for never having enough closet space, so shoe racks are a must if you're planning on bringing more than two pairs of shoes with you. This one from The Container Store is only $12.99.

5. Shower Curtain Liner with Pockets

Instead of keeping your 5 razors and 16 half-used conditioner bottles on the shower floor, try a liner with pockets. Try this one from Walmart for $14.84.

6. File Organizers

Keep yourself from losing important papers with this cute piece. Buy it from Bed Bath & Beyond for $9.99.

7. Miniature Floating Shelves

Because who doesn't want extra wall space to display quirky trinkets? With these shelves, you won't clutter any desk space. Get a set of three from Amazon for $15.33.

8. Over-the-Cabinet Bathroom Organizers

Hair tools take up a lot of space. With this organizer from Walmart for $12.72, you can keep your bathroom cabinet organized without cluttering the small shelf space on the inside.

No matter the size of your dorm or apartment, you'll want to add some decor to match your personality. But don't let a small budget stop you. The following eight things don't require the big bucks, or really any bucks at all.

9. Pictures

Pictures are a must have for making your space unique to you, and there's so much you can do with them. Find pictures of people you love - your family, your friends, your favorite band, and your pets, of course - and send them to Walgreens. They almost always have sales going on for 4x6 prints, and even without a sale they're no more than 30 cents each. The possibilities are endless.

10. Washi Tape

Sick of those bland white walls or ugly university-provided furniture? Add a splash of color with washi tape. There are hundreds of uses for it, like creating wall designs, combining it with photos, or decorating storage. Get virtually any color or pattern from Target, starting at $2.47.

11. Picture Frames

If you'd rather not hang pictures on the wall, opt for a more classic look with picture frames. Get this rose gold frame from H&M for only $9.99.

12. LED Lights

You've seen classic dorm room fairy lights everywhere. If you want some interesting lighting in your room, try a different spin with an LED string light, like this one from Urban Outfitters.

13. Succulents

If you need something to take care of that's not as high-maintenance as you or your roommate, put some succulents in your place, like this cactus from Lowe's for $10.98. If you love the look of succulents but don't want to feel responsible for its life, try this beautiful faux one from Etsy for $19.

14. Printed Contact Paper

Make your desk look more chic - turn that flat surface into a print! You can get all kinds of printed contact paper, but this one from Houzz is beautiful, easy to use, and only $10.99.

15. Curtain Tie-Back

Are you torn between using curtains and getting the most natural light possible? You can do both with a tie-back. This antique-looking one is from Urban Outfitters for $16.

16. Mirrors

Mirrors instantly give the illusion that your small room is a lot more spacious than it actually is. Get these funky mirrors from Urban Outfitters starting at $19.

17. Mini Vessels

Small vessels are the perfect addition to any space. You can leave them empty or put in a candle, tea light, or small succulent. Try this clear, geometric one from Anthropologie for $14.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
