With the crazy schedules everyone lives these days, people sometimes forget to appreciate the little things in life. I asked around to see what things make people's days, and I got some great answers. This list is a collaboration of my and my friends and family's "little things" that make them happy.

1. Waking up to a good morning text.

2. The smell of coffee in the morning.

3. When a stranger you make eye contact with while walking actually smiles and says "Hi," rather than diverting his or her eyes.

4. Going to petting zoos and petting all the animals.

5. Playing with puppies and kittens.

6. When you go to fold your omelet and it doesn't disintegrate into a million pieces.

7. Strawberry Nutella sandwiches, or any sandwich for that matter.

8. Scooping ice cream into a perfect sphere.

9. Oversized sweatshirts.

10. Falling asleep on the couch.

11. Snuggling with your pets.

12. Coming home from school.

13. Grandma's baking.

14. When someone holds the door for you.

15. Taking ski boots off after a long day on the slopes.

16. Finishing a to-do list in one day.

17. Being on time to an appointment.

18. Hitting the high note in your favorite song.

19. Watching the sun rise.

20. Sandy toes (but only when at the beach).

21. Seeing your best friend happy.

22. Jam sessions during long car rides.

23. Laughing so hard you can't breathe.

24. Payday.

25. Cute puppy videos.

26. Kid President pep talks.

27. When the bass is good on a song.

28. Waking up after a good dream.

29. Laying on the cold floor after a long run.

30. Quiet time to yourself after a long day.

31. Watching good movies with good people.

32. Putting yourself out there and getting a positive response in return.

33. Watching your favorite team win.

34. Laying in a hammock.

35. Trying a new recipe and actually liking it.

36. When the kids you babysit finally fall asleep.

37. Finishing your homework at a reasonable hour.

38. Falling in love with a new show on Netflix and finding out it has more than one season.

39. Opening a Reese's Cup and having no chocolate left behind on the wrapper.

40. Having the perfect number of napkins when setting the table.

41. Finding a field of dandelions.

42. Toasting a marshmallow to golden brown perfection.

43. Holding hands with your S.O.

44. Peeling the plastic off of new devices.

45. The smell of fresh laundry.

46. The sound of a kids laughter (except when it's late at night and there are no kids in your house).

47. When you quote a movie and someone actually understands the reference and quotes the following line back to you.

48. Reading a book that is so good you forget where you are.

49. The smell of fresh cut grass during the summer.

50. The silence of snow falling.

51. When you and a random person give each other "the look" because some other stranger is being extra dramatic.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
