it's not time to start jamming to "All I Want For Christmas Is You" just yet.

Christmas-Lovers, If You Skip Over Thanksgiving AGAIN This Year, You're On The Naughty List

It always seems to go like this every year: Halloween is celebrated throughout October and right when November 1 hits, everything turns into Christmas overnight.

There isn't a problem with this- except for the fact that there is a whole holiday in between the two that never gets the recognition it deserves.

Christmas seems to have so much to offer –– from the decorations and classic color scheme to the traditions of cookies and Santa Claus –– but people don't understand that Thanksgiving has all the same things to offer too. For instance, department stores barely ever have a section, let alone a whole aisle, dedicated to Thanksgiving decorations and that seems like complete blasphemy to me.

As for color scheme, Thanksgiving is usually filled with maroons, burgundies, greens and golden tones (which is prettier than the normal red and green in my opinion), so why aren't they made more of a bigger deal?

Thanksgiving is most well known for its food, so there is no reason as to why it shouldn't be as hyped up as Christmas cookies are.

There countless different combinations for a Thanksgiving dinner, as well as classified groups designated for every food on the table, which makes the feast even grander. Even if you're a vegetarian, a vegan or just a picky eater, you most likely will still stuff your face with amazing food that you love.

Here's another thing- why doesn't Thanksgiving have a holiday figure of its own? Christmas has Santa, Valentine's Day has Cupid and even St. Patrick's Day has leprechauns to stand for their day. I would love to create a universally-known turkey character that can automatically associate with Thanksgiving when people think of it, but maybe I'm a couple of centuries too late to make that happen.

Speaking of timing, after my whole rant about this, I would like to make it known that I know this particular holiday has one of the worst backgrounds and has even become controversial because of it. The relationship between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans is the focal point of this controversy, but I do feel as though so much has changed since then. Of course, we shouldn't forget about the mistreatment and how a lot of things were handled incorrectly centuries ago, but that's the thing- it was that long ago.

Thanksgiving may be known as the holiday that marks the end of Autumn or the roadblock that appears before Christmas, but what I think is that it's probably the best holiday all year.

Think about it: you're spending a day with the people you love and care most for, stuffing your face with amazing food until you physically can't anymore without any judgment and giving thanks to everyone around you with great stories to share. There's no pressure of buying gifts for anyone or even having any religious ceremonies to have to attend, which makes the holiday even better.

At the end of the day, Thanksgiving is just a family dinner set on a bigger scale made to be celebrated at the end of November. But that's where the true beauty lies. It's just like any other day, making people see that every day should be a day of thanks.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
