Don't kill yourself today.

Don't kill yourself today because if you do, your mother will come to your room to wake you up, only to realize that your heart isn't beating.

Don't kill yourself today because your mother will hold your cold, dead body. While sobbing uncontrollably with the realization that she will never get to hold you again.

Don't kill yourself today because when they address your death at school, your best friend will be sitting in class, completely frozen and destroyed.

Don't kill yourself today because your best friend will be too sad to do anything for weeks. She will have blamed herself for your suicide, and ask herself why she couldn't do anything for you. She will wonder why she wasn't important enough to make you stay.

Don't kill yourself today because your father will cry, relentlessly, for weeks. Even though you have never seen your own father cry, the loss of his child will tear him up so much. He will stop going to work. He will stop living his day-to-day life because now a piece of him is gone and buried in the ground.

Don't kill yourself today because your brother will never again be able to do the things that you did together. He will no longer be able to look at your room to see what he can take to annoy you. Now, when he looks at the door to your room he doesn't dare enter because in there are traces of you. He loved you. You didn't even say goodbye to him.

Don't kill yourself today because your sister will not sleep. When she closes her eyes she sees your lifeless body, instead of her role model and best friend. Even if you fought, she always loved you and wanted to be like you, no matter what anybody said. You left her alone.

Don't kill yourself today because your favorite teacher won't be able to teach because all that they see is that empty chair; the empty space that was once where you laughed and talked all through class.

Don't kill yourself today because your entire family will be devastated. The ghost of you eternally lodged into their minds and souls, leaving constant reminders that their beloved daughter, sister and friend felt so terrible that you had to take your own life.

Don't kill yourself today because your pet will never comprehend what happened, they will just know that one day you disappeared. Your pet will stop eating and look for you, even though they will never find you. Didn't you love them? What did they do wrong?

Most importantly, don't kill yourself today because I believe in you. You may not feel like anybody sees it, but they do. I see you're struggling. I see you trying to fade away a little bit more each day, until you eventually just disappear.

Don't kill yourself today because you have so much more left to live for, you just have to wake up and see it. If you never wake up, how will you ever live your dreams? How will you fall in love with somebody who loves you just as much, if not more than you love them? How will you ever get married to the love of your life? How will you ever have children who see you as their rock? How will you ever just be happy?

Don't kill yourself today because there are better days coming.

It's always darkest just before the dawn, so stay awake with me. Let's prove them wrong.

Don't kill yourself.

Somebody loves you.

I love you.

You matter.

You always will.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
