We live in a world full of half-hearted commitments.
We never want to give 100 percent of ourselves anywhere, because we are afraid of what could happen. We only have a “thing”, never date. We are “religious” but never whole-hearted followers. We are afraid to be too intelligent, too outgoing, too shy or too much. Little do we understand, that being a part of something 100 percent is not something to be embarrassed about.
As a society, we are obsessed with perfection. We want to look, act, speak, and be seen as perfect. As that stigma is placed on us, we cannot give 100 percent to anything because we are afraid of failing at it, and failing does not equal perfection.
Maybe you are the person who overanalyzes your romantic scenario. Maybe you’re the person who is attached to somebody who you have no idea what they feel about you. Maybe you constantly check up on somebody to make sure they’re doing well, even when they would never contact you first. Maybe you have our own laundry list of things to do, but you’re helping your friends out instead. No matter the scenario, caring more is never a bad thing.
So maybe you care “too much." So what?
We live in a world that doesn’t care enough. We are surrounded every day with people that care about themselves, and only themselves. So, when people say that you care “too much," know that there is no such a thing. I would rather care too much than too little any day.
You don’t have to feel sorry for how you are. You don’t have to be sorry for always texting first, or for being there when anybody else would have run away. You will find those who appreciate you, and who can acknowledge that caring too much is actually a rarity. Don’t be worried about being the one who loves too much, cares too much, and values others too much. In a world where we are beating around the bush about our emotions, and hide them every chance we get, you are the difference.
Continue to give whole heartedly. Love those who are unsure if they love you, because they may need it. Care about others, and spread kindness wherever you go. If you are somebody who cares “ too much”, know you are a blessing to this world.
