The perfect boyfriend isn't somebody who needs to constantly post on Instagram about you, constantly buy you things, or even always takes you out. The perfect boyfriend is somebody who is fun, funny, and respectful. He's somebody who you can be yourself around and not have to worry about being embarrassed.
Relationships take time. They take time to build and grow together. It takes two people who really want to be together to make sure ends meet. It takes communication and love. It takes time to build trust between two people, it doesn't happen overnight.
My boyfriend and I are long distance, we have been for a few years. The past week I've had the flu, but I still drove a couple hours to see him over the weekend since we already don't get to see each other a ton and it's harder for him to travel to me because our cat lives with him. I spent a lot of the weekend crying and moaning in pain and he took the best care of me. He didn't get mad because I was crying and moaning in pain, he didn't complain that he could possibly get sick as well, instead, he made sure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed to try to feel better. I even woke up before him to go lay on the couch where I proceeded to text him asking him to bring me another blanket. He did because he's the perfect boyfriend.
The perfect boyfriend is somebody who will stay up until 1 in the morning playing the Switch with you while you both laugh and yell at the game together. He's somebody who introduces you to new things. These are things that he knows you'll love and things that you've never imagined that you would even try. He knows you better than you know yourself.
If somebody comes into your life and they know you better than you know yourself, keep them. Love them harder than you've ever loved anything. He's special and deserves to be shown he is.
