October is the time of the year when the breeze at night and in the morning becomes colder. It's that time of the year when you think you're ready to put on a sweater, but after it noon the weather decides to regress back to its inferno state. In the end, you don't know what to wear because of the bipolar weather we live in. But it's not all that bad when you realize that October is closer to winter and Christmas!
This is the month where there is so much to do, especially in the spooky spirit of Halloween! There are haunted houses and so much more! Fear Farm is the main attraction when it comes to getting scared. I've never been but I hear it's not that scary but very enjoyable! There is also another place called the 13 Haunted Floors, which essentially is just another scary haunted place that is supposed to get scarier as you progress. If you don't like to be scared, like me, I suggest a pumpkin patch! There are many locations here in the valley, and they include so much more than just pumpkins! They have food, corn mazes, and hayrides. It's way more of a family thing to do but it's great for the memories and the pictures!
October is also the month when the Arizona State Fair comes to town. It is open from the 7th of October through the 27th! Big artists come to perform every year and there are so many rides to choose from! I being the food connoisseur that I am only like to go for all the fried food! I love their fried snickers and their funnel cakes as well as the mountain of French fries! They also have a petting zoo in case you wanted to pet some friendly barnyard animals!
If you're more of a homebody but you still want to be in the fall spirit, go to your local market and pick up some pumpkins to carve! I just recently did so and it was so much fun! We set up a projector to the wall and played "Twitches" as we carved away. It's such a timeless thing to do for the Halloween season!
October is one of the best months because there is so much to do! Make sure to go out and enjoy the Halloween spirit!
