According to the latest presidential election polls, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are now statistically tied. The fact that Trump has a good chance at the White House has come as shocking news to many.
However it shouldn't be. It is entirely the fault of one organization that Trump might beat Clinton: the Democratic National Committee. At first that might sound ridiculous. But let me explain.
The Bernie Sanders campaign had been saying for months during the Democratic primaries that he was by far a stronger candidate to beat Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton. Despite numerous polls to back up than statement, the DNC had picked their candidate from the start and did everything they could to ensure she would appear to be the winner.
The fact of the matter is, Hillary Clinton is a weak candidate, she couldn't even win her own party's primary without the DNC rigging the election in key states. How can we now expect her to fare well against Trump, who's taken the Republican Party by storm and completely turned it on it's ear.
Now, as the anticipation grows for the first presidential debate, there has been a new development regarding Clinton's health. While her health was always a question, it has never come to the forefront of the media's attention like it has now.
On September 11, while attending a memorial ceremony at One World Trade for the victims of 9/11, Clinton suddenly left the event early, nearly collapsing as she entered her van if not for her Secret Service agents holding her up.
She was rushed to her daughter's apartment nearby, with the official story being that she had pneumonia. However, just a few hours later she left the apartment, apparently seeming fine.
This raised many questions from the public as to how a 68 year old woman could recover from pneumonia in just a few hours. Some questioned the apparent diagnosis while others questioned the woman who appeared from the apartment hours later, claiming that may have been a body double.
While this was happening, a report emerged stating that the DNC had held an emergency meeting to discuss the possibility of replacing Clinton. According to the report, one of the major names mentioned was that of Sanders.
This is not the first time Clinton's health has been called into question. At more than one campaign rally or speech, the former secretary of state burst into fits of coughing. So now the Democrats are going into a huge general election with a weak candidate who may be in deteriorating health.
Things aren't looking great for the Democratic Party. If only there had been a stronger candidate they could have gone with.
